4 Old School Summer Games Your Kids Will Love

Jun. 26 2015 RV Living By Oklahoma RV Center

Summer is the time of year when kids kick back, relax and unplug from the demands of school. Unfortunately, today's generation spends a lot of time inside playing video games and being cooped up inside. Get the kids outside and excited about summer by introducing them to these fun summer games.

Grass Twister

This is just like your favorite indoor version of Twister, however, utilizes spray paint to color your grass and create an earth version. Use four colors to spray six circles of each color and enjoy. This is a fun way to spend an afternoon and get a little exercise. It's also a great game to use at outdoor birthday parties.

Recycled Bottle Bowling

Make use of old bottles to create a fun outdoor game that kids and adults will enjoy. This game makes use of old bottles, is durable and travels easily. Pack them up and take them to a friends house or bring them with you on your next camping trip.

Giant Pick Up Sticks

Take this beloved favorite and turn it into a life sized version! Using yard sticks or oversized bamboo sticks, color them and then throw in a pile. These also travel well because you can simply secure in a bundle using twine. Pick Up Sticks is fun for everyone and requires a lot of strategy. Just remember to use extra caution when allowing the kids to play with large sticks.

Obstacle Course

Get the kids outside and moving with an outdoor obstacle course. Use everyday objects to create obstacles for the kids to jump over, crawl through, and meander around. Set the competition stakes high by timing each kid and offering prizes to whomever is fastest.
