Robbers Cave State Park is one of those unique parks that will keep you coming back year after year. Located in Wilberton, Oklahoma, Robbers Cave is nestled in the scenic hills of the San Bois Mountains. It’s a favorite spot among outdoor lovers of all types, including rappellers, hikers, and equestrians. This 8,246-acre park with 189 combined lake acres with Lake Carlton, Lake Wayne Wallace and Coon Creek truly has something to offer anyone seeking peace, tranquility, and adventure.
This state park offers a range of amenities that will make you a happy camper. This includes an ADA accessible bathroom, so everyone in the family can come along regardless of physical limitations. There is also a swim beach, water hookup, a dumping station, and full hookups.
Robbers Cave is a family friendly state park and that means the entire family. Bring along fido for your next trip and watch him have even more fun than the rest of the family. If you’re not planning on RVing and instead want to rent a cabin, no worries. Pets are also allowed in cabins. Just be sure to clean up after your pet, control barking, and keep them on a leash so they don’t run off or worse get after local wildlife!
A wide variety of rentals are available to you. They offer horses so you can get your equestrian fix. If you enjoy spending time on the water, you’ll love the option to rent canoes and paddleboats. After a day on the water you can rent a bike and enjoy a leisure stroll along one of the many bike trails.
No state park is complete without a little history. Robbers Cave was actually a hideout place for Belle Starr and Jesse James. It’s incredible to visit and see why they hid out here: its vast cave system offers ample hiding space.
