RV Tips: Tailgate Party With an Outdoor Kitchen!

Sep. 26 2022 Outdoor Kitchens By Oklahoma RV Center

Ready to make this season unforgettable? We're ready to help! We love a good tailgate party just as much as the next guy, and nothing beats having an RV with an outdoor kitchen to really boost your ratings!

Check out some of our RV tailgating tips below - as well as a great recipe you can use on your RV's outdoor kitchen.

Make Room in Your Storage Space

One thing that makes a camping trip distinctly different from a tailgate party is that you don't need your usual camping gear. Clear your RV's exterior storage to make room for what you gotta have on game day - like camp chairs and corn hole. You may also want a card table or a 10'x10' picnic tent for extra shade. If bugs are going to pester you for a few weeks yet, make sure you leave some citronella candles and a couple of lighters handy.

Fire Up the Outside Grill!

Does your RV have an outdoor kitchen? If not, you're missing out! The outdoor cooktop is an ideal place to start grilling burgers or hot dogs or heat up a skillet of beer cheese dip. One unit that's perfect for this is our Mesa Ridge MF284RLS fifth wheel for sale.

Not only is this unit ready for your camping trips - it's Game Day Ready! Take a look at some of these fantastic features:

  • Front Private Bedroom
  • Kitchen Island
  • Fireplace
  • Tri-Fold Sofa
  • Outside Kitchen

Take a look at that outdoor kitchen pictured above. It's perfect for cooking up Brown Sugar Brats - one of my family's favorite recipes. Simply combine a quick and simple marinade, soak the bratwursts overnight, and then throw on the cooktop.

Here's the recipe:

In a gallon size food storage bag, combine the following ingredients:

  • 12 oz dark beer
  • 1 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1 Tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder

Next, add in 1 lb bratwurst sausages. Seal the bag and refrigerate 6-8 hours or overnight. When you're ready to fire up the grill, pull the brats out of the fridge. Cook on a med-high surface until internal temperature reads 160.

Want to really give these sweet and spicy brats a kick? Saute up a thinly sliced white onion and give each brat a drizzle of spicy brown mustard. Mm-mm good!
